What a bunch of idiots. Robert stood there watching a group pf younger boys try to get brave enough to steal some fruit from a market cart and he knew if he didn't step up then the group of kids--who really could not be more then ten--where going to be missing some hands! Robert--or Robin in his current outlawed state-- looked around before moving closer to interrupt.
He only made it a few steps however before some loud shots from the other end of the market drew his attention. Damn it! Everyone's attention! It seemed there was a ruckus going on and he wasn't even invited! Robert hurried down the street while making sure his hood stayed low over his face in efforts to somewhat hide who he was. When get got to the all the fuss he paused only a second to take inventory before he dropped his hood back and pulled an arrow out.
There was a little girl; and some of the guards had her down about to take her hand for some crime or another. She could not be more then 20 this one. It appeared she had a few friends, that were either being held back or being held still to wait their turn. Robert took aim at the guard with the axe and let his arrow go. The guard dropped his axe as the arrow landed in his side; deep enough to do some damage but he could live yet. "Now now! Didn't your mother teach you, not to bully little girls?!" He called to him, knowing that the sight of him would cause them to forget the girl and come at him. He had a major price on his head, and they would want to be the one to bring him in.

It was much too quick of a reunion between Will and his hometown, but the young man had forced it anyway. With his hood drawn up, he could have been anyone. Besides, even a go-getter like himself hadn't been acquainted with everyone in the town. Plenty of new faces all around him. No one to recognized him as Scarlock's son after he had slipped a few necessities into his satchel and bolted. The forest just wasn't the treasure trove of all of life's comforts that it was made out to be. Okay, no one made it out to be that way but that was for good reason.
He was distracted from his plans by some kind of commotion not far away. He had to move around before he could make out more than just a group of guards. What were they crowding around? Will was shocked to find a young lady as their focus. The lows these men would go to in order to satisfy their twisted laws was beyond Will's comprehension. His own hand twitched at the thought of the maiden losing her own.
Will moved his hand to his sword, gripping the hilt tightly as he tried to decide on a course of action. He couldn't stand there and watch, but doing anything else would get him run in. Oh well, better to die a decent man than a coward like practically every man who simply watched must be. However, someone else beat him to the heroic save. An arrow took the axe wielder in the hand, ending the immediate threat. Will turned with much of the crowd to see who it was. Was that... Robin Hood? Well that settled it, he wasn't going to leave the other man hanging, nor would he be shown up. He tripped the first guard that bolted after the famous outlaw, causing another behind him to fall as well.
Upon hearing shouts now aimed at him and his capture, he spoke up. ”Sorry gents, I'm afraid the loon with the bow's got the right idea.” Well, great words didn't come to everyone who had swords pointed at them. He drew his sword, ”I hope you all know a good physician.” He backed up, moving toward where he had last seen the archer in hopes that some plan other than fighting them all came to him.

Did that idiot kid just call him a loon with a bow?! Robert was about to start leading them on a merry little chase before loosing them in either the over crowed tavern or beating them to the woods where they always backed off. They were out-numbed there unless they entered it in force. However when some kid drew a sword and started fighting he knew that running wasn't an option. Whomever the kid was just moved them selves up on the outlawed list. Idiot indeed!
Robert drew another arrow as the kid made his way to where Robert was standing. Taking careful aim; Robert made sure that no one was getting too close to him. The one guard whom almost got close enough to grab the kid received an arrow in his shoulder for his efforts. When the kid made it too him he grabbed him by the collar in order to keep him moving. "Run! East!" He demand letting the kid go so he could get one more shot off before turning to follow him. Robert knew that he was being bossy and controlling but he was still used to being one of the higher ranking men on King Richard's battle fields in the Holy Lands.
Robert ran behind the kid, making sure he stayed between the boy and any shot the guards might get off. "Get to the tavern there, blend with the crowd, duck low enough that no one can see you and head for the steps! Third door on the left!" It was his escape route. Robert had not even bothered to look at the kid too closely; as he was trying to keep them both alive long enough to get away. Had he looked it might have recognized some of the face that was looking back at him; might have known that it was not just a random kid that he was trying to keep alive; but his brother.

This hadn't been a good idea. No one had to tell Will that. Apparently just being an outlaw didn't make going against the guards some natural thing. Well excuse him for missing a few tactics lessons in between helping his mother with supplies and house chores. He tried to break down the possibilities in his head. Where his strategical knowledge failed him, his imagination managed to come up with several scenarios and possibilities. Sadly each one ended with him dying in some way or another.
He didn't notice one of the guards get close enough to grab him, but as soon as the man tried, an arrow sunk into his shoulder. Will made his move back toward the archer, who grabbed his collar and gave him a command. Usually Will wasn't much for following orders, but at the moment it seemed like a perfectly good idea. He gave a sharp nod, “Got it, East,” he repeated. Once released he took off, sheathing to sword as he moved for greater mobility. Didn't seem like he'd be using it right now anyway.
No stranger to running away from guards, Will made full use of his knowledge of the town. From behind him, he heard further instructions, this time more complex than just running East. He put the plan into his memory and bolted toward the tavern. Hopefully no one there got a good look at him and decided to turn him in. As soon as he merged with the crowd, he put his hood back up and slowed to a fast walk. Running was conspicuous but he didn't want to move so slowly someone thought they could put his leisure to good use. His shoulder knocked against other people a few times before he began to fulfill the rest of the plan. He moved low, first to the steps and finally through the third door he found. Once inside, he looked for his comrade. He quietly called out, “Hey, so where do we go from here?”

Robert had to trust that the boy would find his own way up to the room; since going up together would draw too much attention. Both from anyone official who might sound the call; and from all the citizens wondering why he was going up to the whore's rooms int he taverns with a young boy. Somethings you never lived down and he wasn't adding that rumor to the mix. He'd almost rather be hung. Robert made it up the room first as he didn't mingle so much as walked in; and gave the little dove who owned the room a quick kiss before running up the steps. She knew what it meant; and he knew that she'd cover for him.
When the door opened; Robert was on full alert in case it wasn't the boy. He was rather glad it was so they could get out of here. He opened his mouth to tell the kid he was a fool; and arrogant and now thanks to his actions an outlaw. However everything died on his lips when he got a clear look at the kid. Robert knew his father had other women out side his marriage; and he had even heard rumors of child but he'd never asked and never acknowledged anyone before nor after his father's death.
The boy looked allot like Robert's father--enough that he knew with out doubt who's father the boy could claim. Bloody hell! “Hey, so where do we go from here?” Bloody hell! Robert stood there staring at him for a moment; wondering if the kind--who's name he did not even know--knew who he was. Both as an outlaw or as the noble. "We wait for about ten minutes; maybe less then go out the window and down into the ally. We can make it to the woods and stay out of sight for most the journey." He sounded a bit distracted; but it was just the shock of the idea of who this kid might be. "What's name, kid?" Once the shock wore off; he'd do the yelling.
