.:Birthplace:. Locksley Estate; Nottinghamshire, England .:Family:. Father; Thomas. Mother; Vivian. Younger sister; Evelyn; Half Brother Will .:History:. Robert of Locksley was born as the heir to his father's Earldom. He was given everything a future earl would need in order to prepare himself for life as one of the higher ranking peers of the realm. Only a handful of dukes, and a few marquises would be above him. Huntingdon would also be one of the elder earldoms in the land giving his name power without him having to do much for it.
When he was of age, he joined the ranks of the king's knights and soon started to charm over every lady of the court that he passed. Robert had a grace and a charm that allowed him to be bolder then normal and still be in favor of the court. When the knights went to fight in the holy lands; Robert was only all too willing to fight for king and country. He was bloody fool. War would be unlike anything he'd ever experienced and by the time it was done he would no longer believe in the same ideals that he had before.
Upon returning to his father's home he would come to learn that his father was dead. His mother and sister were 'in care' of the local sheriff. His lands were in disgrace! While the sheriff had collected taxes from the people nothing had be done to upkeep it. Annoyed at the oversight and even more so at the idea of being left a penniless earl he demand the sheriff cut the taxes on his lands until he could set things rights.
Everything got out of hand from there! Robert, unable to stand by and watch the sheriff keep taking more of his money and nothing happening rebelled. First it was small things; such as using his title to bully the sheriff. Then it was just doing things to annoy the bloody man.
The sheriff would also retaliate in the game of political warfare and Robert would only return the favor. What changed everything was when the sheriff retaliated ageist one of Robert's actions by sending his men to force the taxes out of Robert's people. During the event, one of the farmers--a father of four--was killed. Robert had arrived too late to stop the men from taking the money that should have gone to him; found the farmer dead and the men taking more of his money! Enraged a fight broke out and one of the tax collectors died.
Robert; Earl of Huntingdon was now outlawed. His lands forfeited to the crown by care of the local sheriff.
Free of his title, Robert Of Locksley became known as Robin of the Woods; and as his eyes were opened to the people that were hurting; he started ever so slowly fighting not just against the sheriff, but for the people he was hurting. What started off as a battle between to men had now spilled over to a much bigger war. One where it was no longer fighting with words and well-timed political moves; but with fire and steal. It was no longer money on the line, but lives.
