He looked down at his empty glass. This had been his what third? Fourth? He couldn’t even remember. This is how he spent his day now, drinking away his life, fighting to keep alive and stealing when need be. It was no life of a noble knight, but then again Edric wasn’t a noble knight anymore. No amount of ale was going to take away everything that his brother had taken from him. This was how he spent his days, if it wasn’t drinking, it was some fight he got into, and if it wasn’t that then he was trying to steal either some food or money to send to his mother. He wished he could be with her, but there was no way he could go back to London because he knew if he took one step there, guards would be all over him. His brother was more then likely bathing in the riches and fame he got for being a noble knight now, no there was nothing noble about killing one’s father and teacher and framed your brother for it. Had Edric done something wrong, had he not spent enough time with his brother? It was something that went though his mind everyday. Well his brother was there in London doing anything he wanted; Edric was here in a low tavern drinking ale to drown his sorrows. He was not the same young Edric who had been happy and careful.
He looked up from his glass to the pretty barmaid who was working. She had been nice to him and gives him the ale for a low price. She said she had felt sorry for him and that’s it would be no problem. He wondered if she really knew who he was. I mean right now he looked like some low commoner, not the knight he had once been. It was no matter. The barmaid came over and knew that he wanted another. Was it a shame to wasting away like this? Ya it, but really what did he have to life for anyway? His mother yes he lived for her, but each day he risked his life for her and he knew one day. He smiled when the pretty barmaid came back over to where he was sitting and handed him another glass, this time she sat down and talked with him for only a few moments. He knew what the landlord was like that run the place; he had seen him from time to time come out from where he hid away from all the crazy drunken men. Really he just loved sitting and listening to her talk.
Of course it was shorted lived when a group of guards came into the tavern. The barmaid quickly got up from where she had been sitting with Edric and rushed back to what she was doing. He glanced over at the group and looked back over at his drink. He really didn’t want to bring them over this way, it would lead to another tavern brawl, and really he wasn’t in the state of mind to be doing that. The group of guards moved and kicked out a few drank men who were more then likely sitting in the spot they thought was there’s. The whole time Edric was watching them out of the corner of his eye.
[/size] “Why don’t you come over here pretty girl and give me allitle more then an ale”One of the guards spoke, grinning his half tooth smile at the barmaid, who had all ready given most of the guards at the table there drink when she had come around to the one that had spoke. She quickly set the glass of ale down and went to move away from the guards. But the ugly looking one and gotten up and grabbed her arm.“What’s the matter dear, don’t you want allitle fun”.The group of guards started to laugh. All the while Edric was watching the whole scene play out. He could feel his blood start to boil. How dear they treated her like that. Bunch of no good dumb apes in his mind. They had no sense of honour or manners in that case and maybe even lacked a brain. He gripped his glass so tight he swore his knuckles were turned white. He got up from his chair and walked over to them. “Take your hand off her”“Oh look here her little friends come to help”“You should learn how to treat a lady”“And what are you going to do about it”As if right on queue, Edric tackled the one guard who had spoke down to the floor, and swung a punch at him. Behind he could take another or even ask the bar maid if she was allot. The group of guards had gotten up and all hell was about to break lose. Now he was in abit of a pickle. Well so much for no tavern brawling.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size] [[Hope it's ok, let me know if I need to change anything]]

Ooo, A tussle! Robert looked up from his hood in the corner and saw the one man pinning the guard down on the ground. Robert laughed; he liked him already. Robert didn't catch the beginning parts until one of the other girls walked by and was talking about it. Bloody bastards! This tavern was one of the ones he used to meet with some pretty maids from the castle; who gave him tips on what the sheriff was up too!
Now they wanted to abuse the women folk? Robert saw the other guards get up to join the beating and knew that this was where things went south. . . For the guards! Robert pushed from his chair and ran a few steps until he got to another chair; using it as steps to so he could mount the table and cross it to jump onto the group of guards. He managed to mash two of their faces into to the ground; remove the numbers slightly.
He kicked up off the ground and grabbed a near by cup to smash it on the head of another guard trying to stand. The numbers were a bit more even now; but they both had just lost the element of surprise. "Now, now, boys. If you wanted something pretty to sit in your lap, I was right here all along!" A course of 'Robin Hood' and 'Get hims' sounded; and Robert knew the fight was just starting. Or the running. He liked the running idea too.

Well bless God. He wasn't the only one in the tarven that thought what the guards were doing to the barmaid was wrong, as another man had joined his fight against the group of guards. He didn't get a look at his face nor did he have time to even throw in a thank you. He had to deal with the guard on the ground he had just threw a punch at and he had to deal with the two other groups that were coming from behind him. He quickly rolled to the side and faced the two guards coming his way. He picked up a glass of ale and took a drink before he grinned at them.
"Now you two gents wouldn't fight a man when he's enjoying a fresh glass of ale?".
The guards looked at eachother and then back to Edric. By this time Edric had the glass in his hand, he took another quick drink before he hit the one guard over the head with it, before it smashed tot he ground along with the knocked out guard and now it was just down to Edric and the other guard. He swung for a punch, but of course the amount of ale that he had drank was getting to him, so he stumbled when the guard swung his sword at him, just nicking the skin of his arm.
"I'll take that as a No"
He stumbled over the knocked out guard and grabbed his sword and went after the guard. During the sword fight Edric looked over to see how the other man was doing, not to bad he had to say, but sooner or later more guards were going to show up, so it was time to get out of here. He backed up alittle anyways til he was closer to the man that had helped him. He looked over at him and then glanced over at the door.
"What do you say we give these boys alittle run for their money?".
He smirked at the guards that were left. Edric knew for a fact that he could out ran any of this no good guards, they were more then likly unfit and other paid. Just to sit there and do nothing. He was pretty sure that between the both of them they could take out the rest of the guards, but if more showed up, well Edric didn't know, there best bet was to run, running was good in battle as well as fighting, becuase they should a change running away from this more then likly lazy guards.

Robert was having fun! Not the 'I'm a little bored and this gave me something to do' fun; but he liked reminding the good ol' sheriff that he was still kickin' and right under his noise! All he needed was a good tavern brawl to get to his ears; and how a few drunks beat the tar outta his men! Would the man turn red; or a bluer shade in anger? Hmmmm. He should really find out one day!
He heard the man yell something about a run for their money and grinned; oh yeah. Give em' a chase before they turned tail and bolted! "You heard him boys!" He yelled to them and glanced toward the guards. "You want chase some tail? Come after ours!" He taunted before turning and giving the man a one handed push. "Hope your legs move as fast as that mouth." 'Cause Sherwood was a bit of a run from the city; but if they could stay ahead just enough they could make it!

Well this was the most fun Edric had had in a long time. He didn’t mind throwing in another tavern brawl onto the list of many of the other things he had done during his time as an outlaw, so why not! If these fools wanted to think they could just come in here and own the women that worked here they had another thing coming to them. He hated people that thought they could just throw a woman around like they were a piece of dirt. And it seemed like now most of the guard around here were like that. They need to get out of here before more of the guards came, or the guards ran off to get more of them. From what Edric had seen, there was going to be no trouble the both of them running from these guards.
“Oh don’t worry these legs can move much faster then any of those donkeys, plus these boys have nothing on the both of us”.
Edric grinned at the other man and looked back at the guards, they were fat slow donkeys in his mind and he was sure that the guards wouldn’t like the sound of that. He was pretty sure that the other man could run just as fast as Edric or fast for that matter. He looked down at the small wound he had gotten from the sword of one of the guards, it was no matter, he had had far worse off during the war. During times of war, a knight had to do anything he could to make it out alive, so if you had to run, boy you better have legs of steel because running in the desert wasn’t fun, but if you lost your horse then there was no other way to get from one place to another.
“I am ready to hit the high road when you are”
He backed up towards the door, keeping his eye on the guards and the door just in case other guards were going to come in before both of them made a run for it. If anything went well then the both of them about get out of here, lose the guards somewhere. He hoped this guy knew a good place to lose these guys because Edric didn’t know the area well. He nodded to the other man, smiled at the lovely barmaid and grinned one last time at the guards before he turned and made a run for the back door.
