.:Name of Character:. Lady Jaqueline De Lamater .:Alias:. Lady Jaqueline .:Birth Date:. 5th November .:Age In 1192:. 17
.:Look:. Jaqueline is a fair skinned petite young lady, with golden hair which curls in imaculate ringlets and falls to just below her shoulders. She doesn't mind how it hangs as long as it looks nice and as long as she is allowed some loose around her face for comfort. Her unseeing eyes are bright shades of light blue that resemble the colour of the water in her homeland and her skin is soft as a lady's should be, although her mother had to work extremely hard to keep it so. Jaqueline is always dressed in finery as she has the idea that no danger would befall her if it obvious of her class. Due to this inclination it is probably obvious that she is new to Nottingham lifestyle.
.:Height:. 5"4' .:Portrayed by:. Juno Temple
.:Basic Personality:. Jaqueline can be viewed as helpless, pathetic and weak. But she is none of these, yes she has had a very sheltered life, however, just because she is blind does not mean she cannot lead a life like any other courtier and this she is fiercely determined to do as what she lacks in sight she makes up for with hearing which is now finely attuned along with all her other senses. She is very innocent in nature though and will go out of her way to have a nice easy life, not wanting to get overly caught up in the politics of court life or any conflict for that matter. If the whole world would be happy and peaceful she would be in her element but alas that cannot be. Although innocent, Jaqueline is quite sharp especially with hidden meanings and often will spend a bit of time dwelling on what people really meant when it seems there is more to a simple phrase.
To say that she sometimes lets her imagination run away with her is an understatement, for all she knows the world is black and white or full of things called colours which she had no idea of. Sometimes when she thinks to much of this, it can cause to become emotional and slightly depressed but a good curious wander around her surroundings normally puts an end to that as she can easily stand behind a door and hear the entire conversation on the other side. Against her mother's wishes she constantly explores with her hands, associating herself with new things and when she meets a new person who engages her in conversation, her hands will quickly find the face of her companion so she can feel the outline and features of their face and imprint it to her memory. Also curiousity is most definately her biggest weakness as if she catches an unfamiliar smell or sound, the urge to investigate is just too tempting and even though she is seventeen she is still yet to learn that this sort of thing will normally earn her nothing but trouble. .:Accents:. French
.:Alliance:. Charlotte De Lancy .:Rank:. Lady of the court .: Special Skills:. Hearing and throwing. .:Weapon Training:. None she and a friend from the french court thought it would be fun to arm themselves with daggers and now she does so out of habit and rememberance of home.
.:Birthplace:. Champagne, France .:Family:. Phillip De Lamater (father) Charlotte De Lancy (mother) Henri De Lamater (brother) .:History:. Jaqueline is the eldest daughter of Phillip De Lamater who is one of King Phillip II Augustus of France's main advisers. She was born in the autumn of 1975 and to her father she was a great disappointment who had always wanted a son to inherit his estates and now he had a blind daughter instead. She was pushed to the side and relatively ignored by all apart from her mother who tried to teach her disadvantaged child a way to deal with life. It was her that taught her the sounds and smells and feel of the world and often told her stories of crazy worlds and strange mystical things. Yet Charlotte De Lancy never gave up hope that her daughter would be a competant lady of the court and not a lost cause.
Everything seemed to change though when Henri was born when Jaqueline was 5 years old. Her father no longer completely rejected her but that was as best as it got, he now tolerated her presence but only because of the unconditional love she received from her little brother who would gleefully escort her around the household as soon as he could walk. However this was soon ended as Henri was mentored in combat and similar hobbies that would help him become the man his father envisioned. Henri tried to stay in contact with his elder sister but it wasn't long before she was sent to court to wait on some of the older ladies which had its good moments and bad. For instance, she was always a mass of gossip as people thought the little blind girl wouldn't have better hearing than the village fool, this earned her several friends but only one was a true friend - Camilla - and she helped guide her and teach her the key to survival amoungst the courtiers. Everything worked to an extent until her father fell out of favour with the King. Jaqueline didn't know the details apart from his advice backfired. Henri was sent to some place down south away from all the family to be trained non-stop for the army. Her mother and father were disgraced and suspended from court. And for her, the King decided - to the amusement of his other advisers - to send her off to England, to join the English court and fare for herself without faithful Camilla to protect her. King Phillip also saw this as another way to keep the crusade alliance between him and King Richard strong. However Prince John viewed the pretty little blind girl as a hindrance once he found she was not as helpless as it would seem and with contempt he sent her to Nottingham to leave her to the mercy of the county court and outlaws, but also to provide company to the ladies there who wouldn't be as easily offended as his london ladies.
