.:Name of Character:. William De Wendenal .:Alias:. N/A .:Birth Date:. 5/19 .:Age In 1192:. 28
.:Look:. The Sheriff has a rather unique look all to himself. Being the high sheriff, he is always seen wearing the official uniform, which is made of the highest quality fabric for a 'working' official. The sheriff is tall and dark, with black hair and dark brown eyes. It's easy to run into this man in a dark alley and have the urge to run the other way, most people do just that. His hair is kept a fairly unkept manner, and a slight shadow of a beard, giving the sheriff a rugged and aggressive look. .:Height:. 6'2 .:Portrayed by:. Ralph Fiennes
.:Basic Personality:. If left to be himself, William would have most likely grown up to be a fine English gentleman. However, William's life took a drastic turn when he became a man of the law. He was forced to do things that he didn't agree with, and eventually, it became the norm for William. By the time that William was named the High Sheriff, he was a colder man than ever before in his life.
Through carrying out the orders of Prince John, William has grown aggressive. Still keeping his humanity, William would never handle a woman with any harshness, but when it comes to the outlaw men of the world, William has no more compassion for them. Even when it comes to the Prince, William is not known for biting his tongue. In the end, he is loyal, but he will question the Prince if he wishes. .:Accents:. English
.:Alliance:. Prince John .:Rank:. High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire .: Special Skills:. Hand to hand combat, weaponry skills on horseback .:Weapon Training:. Being the High Sheriff, William is the most skilled of all the lawmen
.:Birthplace:. Nottingham .:Family:. Deceased .:History:. William does not speak of his youth, nor his family. He was born a commoner, though his father did own a small portion of land. Due to this, it made the family a little more important than the other commoners. At the end of the day though, William was born to be a hard working commoner, just like his father.
As the crusades started up, there was need for more and more lawmen. William became a squire during this time and worked his way through the usual routine. Upon the King's last ride out, when he was kidnapped, William was suddenly elevated to High Sheriff. So many of the noblemen disappeared with the king that the positions had no bodies in them, and were being filled by common folk who owned land. This was, of course, at the hand of Prince John, much to the dismay of many people.
Now, as Sheriff, William overtook all the duties of the lawmen and collecting taxes. In order to keep his cushy job, William promised his full loyalty to Prince John, willing to do any job asked of him. At first, it was hard for the common man of honor to watch as his own people suffered at his hands, but through time, William became immune to the tugging at his heart.
During his short reign as Sheriff, William has most notably encountered the man nicknamed 'Robin Hood'. The leader of a gang of outlaw men, Robin Hood is notorious for robbing the wealthy. It is said that the money goes to the poor, but William constantly reminds his men that there is no proof of that myth, and that at the end of the day, Robin Hood is an outlaw and wanted for high treason against the crown.
Finally, Prince John proposed a marriage for William, to the Maid Marian. There was no denying that Marian was a beauty of the land, but William has no intention of marrying, least of all to her.
