.:Name of Character:. Lady Evelyn of Locksley .:Alias:. Eve, Evey .:Birth Date:. March 15th .:Age In 1192:.19
.:Look:. Evelyn has the same coloring of hair as her mother; chocolate brown. However, her blue eyes can be traced to either parent. She normally wears her hair, which flows mid-back, free. Yet when out riding she usually pins it to the back of her head, uncovered. As an unmarried woman she is permitted to keep her hair both unbound and free down her back. She is fond of nice garments befitting her station, but will dress down when out riding. .:Height:. 5’6’’ .:Portrayed by:. Lucy Griffiths
.:Basic Personality:. Evelyn was, at one point, outgoing. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind or trail after her elder brother despite talkings to by both her parents. But after her father’s death, and her brother’s disgrace, she has curbed her exuberance. Shunned in court she was confined to her rooms in the castle at Nottingham, where she came to the sad realization that she would have to shed her former self in order to survive at the treacherous court. Normally trusting, she became guarded. Normally exuberant, she became quiet.
She is extremely observant, now that noticing the slightest details about the sheriff or those closest to him could benefit her brother. She also has learn to be deceptive. She has publicly rejected her brother, all the while sending important information his way. She has been polite to those that pursue Robin, all the while hoping that they take an unfortunate fall down the castle stairs. Yet, alone with those closest to her, she allows a bit of her former self to shine through. She is at heart a kind person, having not known deciet or treachery before the death of her father. She wishes to cast off this fake Evelyn one day, but as her days confined to the castle add up, she fears that she never will. .:Accents:.Highborn English
.:Alliance:. Robin and his men (Secretly), the Sheriff (Publicly) .:Rank:. Lady .: Special Skills:. She is rather talented with the lute. As music was apart of her feeble education, she has been at the instrument since a young age. She is also fond of singing, and would much rather be locked away in her chambers with her lute and a song than among the viperous court of Nottingham .:Weapon Training:. Little to none. She has had some training in archery, but has never actually shot at a person before in defense. She imagines that she could, if it were a life-or-death situation. She usually carries a dagger in her boot if out riding.
.:Birthplace:. Locksley Manor .:Family:. Father- Thomas, Earl of Huntingdon (deceased), Mother-Vivian, Dowager Countess of Huntingdon, Brother- Robin, Earl of Huntingdon, (of the Woods), Will Scarlett, half-brother .:History:.
Evelyn was born to Earl Thomas and Countess Vivian at their manor home in Locksely, Nottinghamshire. She was the couple’s second child, and only daughter. She was an exuberant child, enjoying tagging along after her elder brother and causing a general ruckus. Riding became a favorite activity of hers, as she enjoyed the speed and freedom that a ride could give her. Once she reached an appropriate age her mother undertook the meager education that she would receive. She learned to read, write, sew, and play the lute. Her mother was adequate at the instrument, though Evelyn expects that currently she surpasses her. Along with the lute she enjoyed singing, content to sing ditties taught to her by the manor staff much to her mother’s chagrin.
After her brother left for the Holy War her mother cracked down on her somewhat without the distraction of Robin. She was taught to be a proper lady, although her outgoing nature could not truly be squashed. This was all to change, however, with the reappearance of her brother and her father’s murder. After her brother’s branding as an outlaw she was kept to the castle at Nottingham alongside her mother, as Locksley was transferred to the crown.
There, at the court, she learned to be deceitful in order for her family to survive. She publicly rejected her brother and his deeds, despite thinking him a hero. By doing this she has slowly managed to reintegrate herself into the court, despite wishing death upon many of the nobles for what they have done to her brother and the rest of her family. She has permitted herself to be civil and, to some extent, friendly with the higher-ups of the court in order to gain information to pass onto her brother.
The little girl who had once enjoyed hiding her mother’s embroidery or stuffing her father’s boots with straw has been reduced to a young woman lying and spying to keep her family alive.
